Our approach

Dedicated care teams

Unlimited access to a team of doctors, midwives, nurses, dietitians, therapists, lactation experts, and more. You’ll keep your in-person OB-GYN or midwife, but your Pomelo team is here for you between appointments (or whenever you need us!).

Customized care plans

We work with you to create a care plan designed just for you. Your care partner will support you every step of the way, whether it’s meeting with our dietitian, joining a virtual group with other expecting parents, or getting 1:1 support for gestational diabetes.

24/7 availability at $0 cost

No more rushed appointments or waiting rooms. Meet and message with your care team anytime (including nights and weekends) via text, phone, or video. Pomelo is free to members of Mount Sinai's health plan for most services.

Patient testimonials

"I’m not exaggerating when I say the Pomelo Care team got me through the hardest times of pregnancy, feeding my newborn, and postpartum in general. They educated me about what questions to ask my OB and to push back when something didn’t feel right - from questioning my iron levels during pregnancy to making an informed decision about an early induction that was suggested by my OB."
“There is not enough support for moms in the US, and the Pomelo group is helping fix that void. I wish every new mom, or even second or third time mom, would have a group like this supporting them virtually 24 hours a day.”

FAQ

Who is eligible?

Employees and dependents on any Mount Sinai-sponsored United Healthcare/UMR medical plan who are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or had a baby within the last year.

What if I already have an OB-GYN or midwife?

Pomelo is designed to supplement the care you're getting from an OB-GYN or midwife, providing additional support between in-person appointments. If you don’t have an OB-GYN or midwife already, we’ll help you find one. If you already have one, we’ll work with your in-person care team to make sure we’re collaborating to deliver you the best care possible.

How much will it cost?

Pomelo has worked with Mount Sinai’s health plan to deliver services at no extra cost.
